Aim High, Dream Big!

Every student holds boundless potential. We support each individual as she takes flight steadily toward her dreams, expanding her possibilities to the fullest. Through struggle and reflection, she moves closer to the person she wants to become — surrounded by classmates who encourage one another and teachers who care deeply. Three years await her that will exceed even her own imagination.

Global Education

Global Education — Bringing the World Closer

At Hakuho Girls’ High School, every student in every course has the chance to spread her wings to the world. Through encounters with people from many countries, understanding cultural differences, and communicating with mutual respect, we cultivate true global citizens.

Classroom Approach

Classroom Approach

Academic Advanced, Academic Standard, Global Advanced, Global Standard, Media Art Expression, Childcare, and Food Coordination courses hold 34 class hours per week including Saturdays, while Sports and Comprehensive courses hold 30 class hours — building solid academic foundations. We also nurture the “initiative,” “critical thinking,” “judgment,” and “expressive ability” that today’s world demands. Through presentations, hands-on training, and other experiences, we develop students who can express their own thoughts in their own words.

ICT Education and the Introduction of AI

ICT Education and the Introduction of AI

Our school pursues ICT-driven education using iPads (MacBooks in the Media Art Expression Course). In class, students conduct research with their iPads, learn vocabulary through apps, and receive and submit assignments — enabling tailored instruction for each student. Every classroom is equipped with a projector or interactive whiteboard, so students can project the slides they create and give presentations, cultivating an active learning attitude. Two years ago, we introduced the AI-powered math learning tool “Qubena” on iPads, which reads each student’s learning state and delivers material matched to their level. Even through the COVID-19 school closures, our school implemented Google Classroom online lessons across every subject from an early stage. Homeroom, individual meetings and career guidance are also held online — a school-wide effort to keep students learning. We will continue to deepen teacher training so that our ICT education keeps improving.

Launching “Integrated Inquiry Studies”

Launching "Integrated Inquiry Studies"

In “Integrated Inquiry Studies,” we build “the ability to think” and take on “finding answers to questions that have no fixed answer.” When many ideas surface, we do not deny them — instead we ask how to take them to the next step, what things look like from the opposite angle, and how to draw a conclusion. Teachers act as facilitators, helping to bring out each student’s ability. First-year students work on seven topics on “pre-symptomatic illness” in collaboration with Otsuka Pharmaceutical, the Kanagawa Prefectural Health Promotion Division, and Mynavi. In class groups, they tackle each topic, gather information via Google Forms or QR-code surveys, and reach their own conclusions. In the second year, based on what they learned in the first year, they enter the “Career Koshien” competition and aim for the national finals. In the third year, as their culminating project, they choose their own theme, gather findings, arrive at an answer, and present. Through this progression, we cultivate an active learning attitude.
