in physical education and sports

After graduation

University / junior college / specialized college — competing on athletic teams

Through rich physical education classes and club activities, students aim to improve in their own specialty sports. They also acquire basic knowledge of sports-related professions such as instructors, trainers, and physical therapists, and work to obtain the necessary qualifications.

Curriculum unique to this course
for acquiring specialized knowledge in PE and sports

Students learn the mechanisms of physical movement, effects of exercise, and injury prevention methods, and also acquire taping techniques. Sports involve many facets — not only “doing” but also “watching,” “learning,” “teaching,” and “supporting.” To help each student’s sports life continue for a lifetime, they study sports through a broad range of themes such as “Athlete Science” and “Health & Sports Science.”

Partnership with Otsuka Pharmaceutical to back up athletic clubs!

Hakuho Girls’ High School has formed a partnership with Otsuka Pharmaceutical to support our athletic clubs. Throughout the year, heat-illness countermeasures and nutritional guidance are provided for members of the athletic clubs. In addition, through classroom lectures on exercise physiology and human anatomy given by Koichi Onodera, Professor Emeritus of the University of Toyama, students receive scientific support for improving their competitive performance and preventing injuries.

Teacher’s Comments

Mr. Shiro Hishiyama

This course is for students who work hard on club activities for three years and for those who want to realize themselves through sports. Aiming for the balance of both sports and academics, we fully support the competitive lives of athletes as they refine themselves and improve in each sport. Many nationally competitive athletes are enrolled in a variety of sports.
