INTERVIEW

Aya Furushimajima

Producing top-tier athletes in Japan — always aiming higher!

<Track & Field Club>
Aya Furushimajima

Our team has competed in the National High School Ekiden 15 times — the most of any high school in Kanagawa Prefecture — and boasts the top numbers for both National Ekiden and Inter-High School Championship appearances in the prefecture. Under the passionate, attentive guidance of our director and coach, we aim this year to surpass last year's 5th-place finish at the National Ekiden. The whole team trains together every day toward that goal.

Miyu Osada

Great practice atmosphere — we train to give 100% every time

<Basketball Club>
Miyu Osada

Our club is bright and lively, and the whole team is full of energy. We get along across grade levels and can voice our opinions clearly in discussions. Right now we are working to raise the level of the entire team toward our goals. Let's all push each other and reach the national tournament together!

Yuumi Obata

Mental toughness is our greatest strength — aiming high under complete support

<Swimming Club>
Yuumi Obata

The swimming club's motto, passed down through generations, is "When it's time to work, work; when it's time to have fun, have fun." With that rhythm, we can push ourselves without unnecessary stress. As a team, our goal is to send as many members as possible to the Inter-High School Championship. Individually, I am aiming for a second consecutive Inter-High title.

Kono Matsumoto

Year-round pool access and a club that builds independence

<Water Polo Club>

Under the guidance of experienced and accomplished teachers, we train in an excellent environment. Our club's goals are to win nationally and to become a team that people want to cheer for. About half of the members started water polo in high school, but this is still a club that can compete at the national level. We even plan some practice menus ourselves.

Nanami Iwata

Full support from the school — training in a wonderful environment

<Gymnastics Club>
Nanami Iwata

We receive direct instruction from wonderful teachers with national-team experience, and we help each other master techniques through practice. As a team, our goals are to compete in the All-Japan Team Championship, the Inter-High School Championship, and the Kanto Tournament. Individually, I am aiming to reach the Inter-High, the National Sports Festival, and the All-Japan Championship.

Suzuka Watanabe

Almost all members live together in the dormitory — our team unity is the secret of our strength

<Tennis Club>
Suzuka Watanabe

To aim for a national title, physical conditioning is essential. We build a solid foundation through training while refining our technique. One advantage of Hakuho's tennis club is having an environment where we can devote ourselves fully to practice. Even students coming from other regions can join with peace of mind thanks to the dormitory, and we have many members from outside the prefecture.
