On Sunday, February 1, exchange students from Bhutan, together with two Global Course students who transferred from their school “Pelkhil School” in Bhutan to our school, visited Tokyo Disneyland. The park was bustling with many visitors, and the bright, festive atmosphere made the exchange students’ eyes sparkle. They wore Disney headbands of their own choosing and cheered at attractions they experienced for the first time — the day was filled with smiles throughout. One exchange student was also reunited at Disneyland with a Japanese junior high school student who had previously accepted her on a homestay in Bhutan. Watching them enjoy the reunion, we felt the depth of friendship that crosses borders, and reaffirmed the meaning of international exchange. Along with experiencing atmospheres unique to Japan, the exchange further deepened student-to-student relationships and provided a valuable opportunity to nurture international understanding.
