Today we held the finals of the Global Course Speech Contest. During the 2nd semester, in-class speech contests were held in Hospitality classes to select the finalists. Today saw the chosen speakers from classes 1-3, 1-4, 2-3, and 2-4 present their speeches, which they had worked hard to research, write, and memorize. The first-grade students focused on the positive aspects of Japanese culture, talking about traditions and everyday practices they would like to share with the world. The second-grade students thought more globally about human rights and how they would like to help change the world. Through these speeches, students demonstrated not only their communication skills but also their ability to think critically and express their own ideas with confidence. Above all, the key takeaway was the importance of having a voice, and the responsibility to use that voice to take action and contribute to a better world. We are incredibly proud of all the students who participated and showed great courage in presenting their ideas in front of a large audience.
