On day 7 of the overseas program, we welcomed the traditional Indian festival “Sankranti.” Sankranti is a festival of gratitude for crop harvests and blessings of the gods — a tradition carefully preserved locally. On the day, students paired up and visited local students’ homes. Every family welcomed them warmly with heartfelt hospitality and celebrated grandly. Through these home visits, students experienced the goodness and warmth of Indian people and felt bonds that transcend cultural differences. Tomorrow is the final day of the program. Carrying gratitude to everyone who has supported them, students will spend a fruitful last day.
