Today, around 11:00 a.m. India time, our students arrived safely at the local site. Upon arrival, they received a warm welcome from local teachers and students, making a smooth start. Then, over about a 2-hour bus ride, we moved to Marchi International School in Tumkur. There, we received a heartfelt welcome from everyone dressed in India’s traditional sari attire. For lunch, we had the traditional Indian dish “masala dosa” — a rice-flour crepe filled with potato paste. After the school tour, students engaged in a basketball exchange with local students, spending peaceful time. Dinner featured “quesadilla,” with mango ice cream for dessert. The exchange life has just begun, but from day one it was extremely fulfilling. We will continue our activities to gain much learning through intercultural exchange.
